I've been in Phoenix for almost 30 years, and somehow, I only just found Ming Gee! This place is such a hidden gem. They've got a small dim sum menu--not a ton of options, but hey, it's better than nothing, and they were actually pretty tasty. If you're looking for a fancy spot with trendy decor, Ming Gee isn't it. But if what you want is just good, authentic Chinese food, you'll be happy here. Every dish we tried was delicious (check out the photos), and I'm so glad I finally gave it a shot. It's surprising to find this kind of quality Chinese food over on the west side--just judging by the outside, you'd never expect it. Plus, I went all out and ordered a roasted pig for Thanksgiving, so stay tuned if you're curious about how that turns out with Ming Gee's touch! Updated: OMG! My family and friends absolutely loved the roasted pig! It was such a fun and delicious experience! Who needs turkey when you have a 60-pound roasted pig for Thanksgiving?
Sorry, I don't have pictures. My friend asked me what do I want to eat the day after surgery. I was craving Chinese food like Cantonese chow mein and fried rice. My friend is awesome, girl got me! She bought over chicken Cantonese chow mein. BBQ pork fried rice, and soy sauce chicken. OMG, that hit the spot. This is legit Chinese food. The chow mein was crispy and then soggy with the sauce. The fried rice was stirred fried with flavor. And then the soy sauce chicken. Fresh and made with premium soy sauce.
I ordered the roast duck, BBQ pork slice, roast pork, and egg plant! The meal was great.
Celebrated early Mother's Day here. Service was great! Very authentic food. The duck was our favorite, very moist and flavorful. Tried their fried egg with bitter melon. It was just as expected. The noodle dish with seafood and beef claypot rounded out the meal perfectly. Overall, very satisfying and delicious meal. Enjoy! Highly recommend!!
The best crispy pork and soy sauce Chechen that I always order it here. The chef he was always extra nice to let me try the pork every time I come to order.
Visited for take out in preparation to dine at in the future. Had the Westlake Soup and mushroom and Bok Choy. Both very tasty. The pork and the ducks hanging in the window looked delicious. Hoping to return for them soon. It's a working class neighborhood for sure. Which makes it a place for good food that is a solid value. The kind of place I grew up with.
